Churchill famously declared his resolve to, "fight on the beaches" following the retreat of Allied forces from the battle of Dunkirk in 1940.
We see Team Obama putting up the same determination in winning one of it's key battles, the fight to prevent the disclosure of the place and time of birth of the president.
Reporter: "Hey President Bush, would you mind telling us the place and date of your birth?"
W: "Sure, bud, I was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1946. Thanks for asking."
Reporter: "Hey President Clinton, would you mind telling us the place and date of your birth?"
Bubba: "I was born in bed." (laughing, then getting serious and biting his lip) "Actually, I was born into poverty at the Julia Chester Hospital in Hope, August 1946. Say, you're kinda cute, honey, want to get a burger with me, and I can tell you all about it?"
Reporter: "Hey President Obama, would you mind telling us the place and date of your birth?"
Obama: "We will fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender. I will use the full power of the presidency and spend any amount on legal fees to prevent the disclosure of that information!"
I mean, come on, my son had to present an original birth certificate to play Little League baseball! No president has ever fought the disclosure of such a trivial piece of information before. Why would he? It's irrelevant, right? I mean, since Obama was born in the United States. Right? He was, right?
Right?

Questions that I'd Like to See the President Answer
Gee, I'd love to hear off the cuff answers to these questions from our Dear Leader:
Q: Mr. President, are you in favor of abolishing the 22nd amendment to the U. S. Constitution that sets a 2 term limit on your office?
Q: Mr. President, what would your position be if the UAW, partners of the U. S. government in General Motors and Chrysler, decides to go on permanent strike against Ford Motor Company?
Q: Mr. President, if China were to seize Taiwan tomorrow, how would you respond?
Q: Mr. President, can you explain how your stated policy not to meddle in the internal affairs of other countries such as surrounded the recent Iranian election, yet at the same time your administration is trying to force the Honduran people and government to restore to power the former President Zelaya, in apparent direct violation of the Honduran constitution?
Q: Mr. President, do you feel that rising unemployment is good news or bad news?
More to come...

A Glimmer on the Soul of the Press
I just read that 7 American soldiers have died fighting in Afghanistan in this most recent fighting. The press should stick to their previous behavior and broadcast roll calls with photos of each soldier slain since Obama took office. They did that for Bush, repeatedly.
Of course this will never happen, for it was never that these American Heroes gave all and deserved our great thanks and appreciation that motivated the Bush year roll calls. Sadly, it was only that their sacrifice was a useful propaganda tool, easily promoted for political gain. Basically, the Great Concern and Sadness projected by the television hosts during such propaganda broadcasts was just some good ol theatrics, hollow and insincere.

Who Would Ever Buy a GM?
Why Would GM Ever Make a Good Vehicle? No Need Anymore...
Now that GM is owned by the federal government and the UAW (I can't think of two worse owner groups for a car company to be successful, btw), I have to wonder: who in their right mind would ever buy a GM vehicle? No doubt, the government will continually supply extra taxpayer dollars to make up for the losses for this permanent ward of the State, but if left to compete on a level playing field, I can't think of any attraction to purchasing a vehicle from such an inert, corrupt entity. No doubt the government will attempt to provide GM unfair advantages (now *that's* a great thing, ain't it?), but if I were Ford Motor Co., I would claim the mantle of "All American" car company with the greatest, most sustained ad campaign in industry history.
The auto giants should have been allowed to remain independent and work out its issues through bankruptcy. The claim that "jobs were saved" is a straw man and is patently false. In bankruptcy, the company would most likely be legally empowered to tear up the collective bargaining agreements and other debt instruments, restructure, and come back a vastly healthier beast. That would result in the UAW taking it in the shorts, which is exactly why Obama illegally seized these companies; payback for political allies.
What's going to happen when Ford needs to renegotiate its agreement with the UAW, owners of their primary competition? I expect we'll see a slow motion 2 step, where on the one hand the government starts to provide GM and Chrysler unfair advantages that leverage taxpayer dollars, while on the other hand the UAW stalls contract negotiations, fights and strikes against Ford. Slow motion so that UAW workers can migrate in an orderly fashion from Ford to the the government car companies until the time is right to kill this last great American car company.
Ford is still controlled by the Ford Family. They decided last year to put it all on the line for the company's best interest. Root for the Fords; they are true Americans! Buy Ford, screw GM!

Nonsensical Arguments Against Domestic Drilling
"It'll take 20 years before domestic drilling will bring oil to the market!"
Of course it won't take 20 years to get oil to the market if we authorize new domestic oil and natural gas parcels. But look at the ideology behind this thought, and apply that type of "logic" to other issues:
- Don't go to school, it will take 12 years to graduate just high school!
- Don't plant a tree, it'll take years to grow!
- Don't exercise, it will take weeks to get in shape!
The day the US government states that we're going to drill the hell out of domestic carbon energy supplies, the price of oil and natural gas will have record drops in price. On the day.
